i probably need to be doing the exact same thing with music:

simultaneously focusing on the fundamentals
(music theory, skills, and techniques)
and noodling around with my own ideas.

I keep putting it off.

there are things where I don't know enough (yet) to have a vision refined enough to act on
like music
my vision for that is little more than "this is something I should be doing"
but comics is something else entirely
I know exactly what i want to do with this art form

ESPECIALLY IF IT IS CONGRUENT WITH YOUR DEEPEST DESIRES!

In the end I think it's simple: She's a pro
She probably knows better than I do.
